Alexandra joined Beck & Thomas P.C. in August 2016 as counsel to the firm. She is a founding member of the law firm of Haner & Kuo, PLLC and previously was the Head of U.S. Patent Litigation at Sandoz. While at Sandoz, Alexandra oversaw and managed all U.S. patent litigations and provided strategic, legal and business counseling to senior management on patents and related regulatory, portfolio, launch and market issues, particularly with regard to the Hatch-Waxman Act. Prior to Sandoz, Alexandra worked at Goodwin Procter, LLP, and at Pennie & Edmonds, LLP, where she gained broad experience in many aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks and antitrust.
Alexandra’s experiences as a senior in-house executive at a global corporation, a partner at a large firm, and as a small business owner have given her a broad and deep perspective on how to counsel clients creatively and effectively. Alexandra has deep strategic experience managing and directing litigation teams, from pre-litigation to trial and through appeal; negotiating resolutions and settling disputes; providing patent opinions (validity, enforceability and freedom-to-operate); conducting patent landscape analysis, competitive patent monitoring, and patent due diligence; negotiating and drafting licensing, marketing, development, and supply and manufacturing agreements; preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications; and representing clients in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, chemical and medical device industries.
